Melanie rekindles a relationship with Donald and discovers he's coaching Elka's political opponent for the debate. Things heat up between Victoria and J.J. but he has the jitters because the only women he has slept with was his late wife.

Melanie feels replaced when the ladies go to her radio co-host for advice, and Victoria meets J.J.'s family.

5x21 – Mystery Date: Oscar Edition

Victoria must pick between Melanie and Joy on who will be her "plus one" for the Oscars, forcing the two to compete and grovel for her affections.

5x22 – Win Win

Tensions are high in Cleveland: Victoria is up for an Academy Award, Elka is up for City Council election, and Melanie gets a visit from her mother (Debra Monk).
