Im Netz sind nun erste Reviews zu dem heiß erwarteten "Planet der Affen: Prevolution"-Sequel "Planet der Affen: Revolution" aufgetaucht. Diese fallen zum Großteil sehr positiv aus und bezeichnen den Film als einen der besten dieses Kinosommers.

Variety sagt: "'Cloverfield director Matt Reeves helms a bleak but spectacular sequel to the 2011 man-vs.monkey hit."

Hollywood-Reporter meint: "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
manages to do at least three things exceptionally well that are hard
enough to pull off individually: Maintain a simmering level of tension
without let-up for two hours, seriously improve on a very good first
entry in a franchise and produce a powerful humanistic statement using a
significantly simian cast of characters."

Cinemablend gibt 4 von 5 Sternen und sagt: "This groundbreaking, challenging and
immensely rewarding sequel offers audiences a veritable feast consisting
of mature science-fiction themes, complex emotional performances (both
human and digital), and riveting combat set pieces."

Screen International fügt zudem noch hinzu, dass das 3D unnötig sein soll, während sie die sonstige Euphorie nicht ganz teilen:  "(...) the relatively generic Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes is less emotionally resonant than Rise but possibly better equipped."

Zum Großteil behaupten die Stimmen also, dass mit Teil 2 ein spektakulärer, emotionaler, spannender und Teil 1 in nichts nachstehender Film gelungen sei, der mit den Themen des Originals erwachsen umginge und mit starken Schauspielern (sowohl real als auch digital) aufwarten könnte. Nur "Screen International" spricht von einem eher "typischen" Sequel, mit weniger Emotionen als noch in Teil 1.
