Wie die meisten wohl wissen, wird Regisseur Bryan Singer wieder ins "X-Men" Universum zurückkehren, um beim nächsten Teil Platz hinter der Kamera zu nehmen.

Warum Matthew Vaughn - seines Zeichens Regisseur des letzten X-Men Films - nicht Regie bei "X-Men: Days of Future Past" führen wollte, das gab er nun bekannt. So sei das Projekt nicht begeisternd genug für ihn gewesen. Das einzige aufregende wäre die Tatsache gewesen, all die Darsteller zusammenzubringen. Matthew ist der Meinung lieber etwas eigenes zu machen, was er bei "Secret Service" auch hat.

Bei seinem neuen Filmprojekt, das einen Frank Miller-Comic als Vorlage hat, werden unter anderem Colin Firth, Michael Caine und Samuel L. Jackson mitspielen. Der Film soll am 2. April 2015 in die deutschen Kinos kommen.

"It didn't excite me enough," he tells Empire Magazine. "The
thing that was exciting about it was bringing all these actors
together. What a cast! But I've worked with great actors and I just
thought, 'I've got to do my own thing.'"
That "own thing" would be the big screen adaptation of Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons' The Secret Service. "The
script was great for X-Men, but I had Secret Service in my head. And
this has always been Bryan's machine. It's come full circle."
