Während Fans, Stars, Freunde und Familie immer noch um den Tod von Paul Walker trauern, steht Universal aktuell vor einer großen Entscheidung: Die Frage, was nun mit "Fast and Furious 7" geschieht. Zwar sind bereits die Hälfte der Einstellungen gedreht worden, doch wichtige Szenen mit Walker standen erst noch an. Aktuell geht es laut Insidern dabei um folgende Entscheidungen:

• Ein Neustart des Films mit einem frühen Ausstieg der Figur von Walker
• Walker durch eine andere Person und CGI zu ersetzen
• oder gar das 200 Millionen teure Projekt vollkommen zu beenden.

Eine Entscheidung wurde bislang noch nicht getroffen. Fakt ist bislang wohl nur, dass aus dem Release vom 11.07.2014 nichts mehr werden wird.

"Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers," said the studio. "At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise. We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker."
